Disclosures in a Nutshell

Three major disclosures here .... 

1. This site was built using the Google Workspace Sites tool, which appears to offer little/no control over cookies.  The New Google Sites should display this notification when necessary to EU visitors:  

"This site uses cookies from Google to deliver its services and to analyze traffic.
Information about your use of this site is shared with Google.  By using this site, you agree to its use of cookies."

Full GDRP compliance in Google Workspace Sites may still be a work-in-process.   It is probably best to review details of Google’s privacy practices & Cookie usage and how Google uses data on partner sites.

2. Amazon Affiliate Program:   The official/required Official disclosure goes like this:

"As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."

Amazon links on this site are marked with an asterisk - like THIS* and are typically used to share a favorite product or component used in a Tech Recipe or gadget.  The following disclosure also appears in the footer of all pages on the site ... just because:

All recipes, articles, answers, suggestions and recommendations provided on this site are to be used entirely at your own risk.  

MANY articles or procedures were inspired by specific requests by family, friends or clients.  I will attempt to generalize, but please recognize that many situations are unique. 

Cookies, Privacy and Data Collection

Cookies?

Yes, Cookies are used on this site, but very limited ... (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser - read more.)  

If you allow cookies, this site will capture and remember certain information to compile statistics about site traffic and site interaction through Google Analytics.  Google Analytics Privacy policy is buried in http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/,   You may opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics by disabling or refusing the cookies; by disabling JavaScript within your browser; or by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On (I have not tried this, but will give it a whirl).   Google Analytics disabled on ths site December 2023.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly. 

Third Party links?*

It is unlikely that you would see offers (ads) on this site, but there may be links to favorite or useful gadgets/gizmos on this website. I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.  This means that I may get a kickback if you click on one of the links and buy the gadget or gizmo via Amazon.  These links will typically be highlighted and/or called-out* to let you know .  Third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies - see also https://amazon.com/privacy.

Data Collection/Disclosure to Others?
